Legend tells of a fleet, adventurous creature who came upon a strange being near the Sacred Stones that offered to summon Song to the world, and a promise of gold to anyone who could bring forth the juciest Fruit in the realms post-haste as required by The Ritual.

PLAY & CONTROLS (Click to View)

Find the Key in each level to unlock the Chest and reveal the Fruit; Collect it before the 20 Second Timer expires to continue the Song (and grab as much Loot as you can along the way; Grab it ALL for a massive Bonus!).

  • Quadruple Jump!
    • Landing resets Jump-Count
  • Descend to cease Hang Time (which is not your friend!)
    • To be clear: Descend is not Down. Only gravity can do that ;)
  • Levels are single-screen & randomly generated across multiple locales.
  • Level Ends:
    • on Fruit Collection (leave it for last for higher Scores!)
    • Falling beyond the level (it's bottomless!)
    • or Time Out
  • Remember to Clear the level of all Loot and retrieve the Fruit for a massive scoring Bonus!

wow this is so cool! loved it and got confused in starting and worked nvm ! good stuff:) keep doing 

The game is really nice but I had some issues because it crashes after some time of you playing it. Th error was something like HTTP Get Request Failed. It only happens when I am offline

while LoS was intended to be exclusively online (as a web game for a Jam that required it), youā€™ll be glad to know that Saga of Song protects itself when Offline :) still, i might revisit LoS and apply the same safety net some day.

I like this. I've had the message "Error: Failed to get HTTP response ready, HTTP ID 100003 does not exist in purple.agc at line 139" come up twice though, hopefully that's straightforward to sort out.

Hello, that was the web version that I was getting that message in, in a pop-up window. Other than that, no problems. As far as I know there were no connection issues, I posted the message pretty much straight after it happened the second time.

Really fun game! I didn't realize I could multi jump so I got terrible scores the first few times :)

This game was very fun. I honestly never thought I could get so addicted to a game that is only 20 seconds. I liked that it had a little story to it, but not too much as it would've overwhelmed it. The little guy was adorable and I just wanted to feed him fruit. 

The only downside I could find was that I couldn't go back and change the initials I picked at the beginning. Honestly, that's just operator error. Great game. Good luck on your jam!

pretty awesome hitting top 3 so fast; some skills you have!

and, it seems youā€™re using a controller to play? i shouldnā€™t tell you this as i like being #1 on the table but after hundreds of plays, keyboard > controller (at least i think so).

then, #2: i donā€™t see you using DESCEND as much as i think you could. LoS isnā€™t a ā€œbe like mikeā€ michael jordan hang time is king kinda game as TIME is so limited here.

so, to fly higher stop soaring so much, not matter how fun it is (/my 2Ā¢)

truth is i want competition and someone to chase back up the ladder. please continue your trajectory when you have a minute to play ;)

meanwhile, AWESOME vid, as always. not just saying that because itā€™s my own this time. iā€™ve always loved your vids :)

simple, nice, short, for a small scope game this is great, i just have a few things that could be better: some indication of how many jumps you have left, less floaty fall, or some controll over that and make the level actually restart by enter instead of mouseclick or change the text.

you really made a solid game and you can see the love that was put into.

i did want Jump Count in but struggled with how to go about it. initially i thought to fade a # out @ each jump instance but thought that would clash aesthetically so left it out (and honestly didnā€™t revisit the notion until you brought it up here). i do have an idea to make each jump play a higher-pitched/different SFX that weā€™d subconsciously keep track of? i can try that out easy enough but will definitely think more about the notion so thanks for stirring it up.

re: Floaty Fall, itā€™s something i hear often in some of my projects/WIPs that i share. honestly, i prefer it over alternatives most times so itā€™s not up there on my things to address here (sorry :) ). i did include ā€œstop ascensionā€ via [Down] to add more control, tho, which i think was necessary.

with that, something i tried to focus on was a balanced challenge. i continually tweaked mechanics to a point where an entire level could be cleared in 20ā€ for max points sometimes while feeling natural and fun (early iterations were a bit less so). a couple of testers offered ā€œthat feels just rightā€ and i agreed so here we are.

on the Restart question, iā€™m not quite following. yes, [LMB] does restart (i forgot that i left that in from when i was testing level generation and it didnā€™t carry into the Controls instructions here) but [Shift] also Restarts. iā€™m using [Enter] to Refresh the High Scores and i wanted to be able to still run and jump @ the Main screen ā€œjust for funā€ but iā€™m not understanding ā€œchange the textā€ in this context?

finally, yes. i did pour a lot into this while thereā€™s always room for improvement but i do appreciate the results :)

iā€™m not finished with this project just yet so thanks for the Feedback. i should have Controller support in soon and more so keep your fingers nimble :)
