Your games don't work for me.

"‘C:\users\user2\Temp\ir_ext_temp_0\hide.bat’ could not be recognized as an internal or external command, or as a batch script."

I use a 32-bit Linux system. Many games created with AppGameKit work for me using Wine. The games from zxretrosoft, for example, work for me.

hmm. a couple of thoughts are 1) my games generally maintain a profile or game save file where i don't think xzretros games do. and, 2) lately i've been compiling as 64 bit (since i've gone to a newer version of the language, it's the only option while i might be able to use the previous version to produce 32bit versions). is 64 bit an option for you?

add: 3) i use a home made (3rd party) form of media protection that zx also doesn't use which i'd bet is causing your issue. perhaps i'll look at a different approach, there, as i'd love to make my games available to as many as possible.

Thank you for your reply.

I use an MX-15 Debian Jessie 32-bit remaster that fits on a single CD. I can install this system on a computer in less than 10 minutes. Since I test a lot of software and often feel the need to reinstall my system, I use it frequently. I have no plans to switch to a 64-bit system at this time. The executable files for Volleytile and Fly Hard are 32-bit files. I get the above error message when I try to start these games. The problem on my Linux system could be that a file is supposed to be created in a folder that does not exist on my system. *.?

Best regards

Thanks again for your feedback. the 3rd Party "packer" software that i use, as i understand it, simply hides my files (which, i expect, is the "hide.bat" referenced above). the exe you're running is that software which goes on to extract my files into a hidden folder and then executes *my* exe while your experience isn't getting to that point.

that said, i pointed a friend to this thread last night and we've been prototyping ideas to obfuscate media which is all i aim to do; i'm trying to be responsible in keeping paid/commercial media from being easily circulated/distributed.

until that's ironed out and i can ditch the 3rd party software, i do have one older jam game that doesn't use it while it does write your best score to disc (if you achieve over 1000): if you would test P3 and advise if it runs properly, i would appreciate it as it would help me know that the 3rd party software is the culprit here, which is my hunch.

P3 doesn't work for me. I think the Windows version is 64-bit software.

I can't do anything with AGK source code.

Came back to this, always a fun time 😊

More is always an option ;)

Great execution and variations on the Breakout formula, overall very fun and challenging game !

Thank you, Mindream :)

This is fun! Great sound choices, easy but also challenging gameplay. I like it!

thanks, omega :)

nice

(+1)

thank you; i'm glad you found some fun in Volleytile!

Nice, really polished and has the vibe of a 2000s mobile game.
The only problem is that some of the UI has input bugs.

Otherwise, great.

(+1)

hi, can you elaborate on the UI bugs? or do you mean you're playing on mobile (which it isn't really trying to support)?

alas, thanks for playing!

I'm playing on web (MacOS Laptop).
After I die, the replay/play button is shown and when I click it nothing happens. I have to click it a least 5-10 times for it to register a click.

ah. that i can look at. thank you. i just generally stick to the keyboard commands so mighta missed that

hi, cogrow :) i've included an attempt at a Fix for your issue in today's Update. i'd be grateful for you to return and advise if your issue has been remedied?

Seems to work now. The only thing is that the replay button does not work, it just plays a whistle sound.

sorry. that's a button to Refresh scores. a Re-Rollcall, if you will. hence the whistle :)
it's inline with the [z] key referenced in OPERATIONS above.

Love the concept!! Great work!

thanks! can't wait to play your submissoin, CF :)

I know this is for the jam, but maybe use less stock art next time?

still great!

hey, thanks for playing :) and, i did seek artists on the server but received no responses. i'd love to have involved an artist from amongst 20sGJ participants but it didnt happen this time while i was able to replace the music thanks to XogosAqui!

Ye no problem, only reason I've got art is cos a friend is doing it for me XD.
